"Surviving & Thriving Cancer Retreat" is a heartfelt non-profit initiative dedicated to providing a nurturing and empowering haven for individuals who are newly diagnosed or have triumphed over the challenges of cancer. Since 2005, these weekend retreats are designed to be a sanctuary where survivors can find solace, support, and inspiration as they continue their journey toward wholeness of Body, Mind, Spirit, and Community.

Since this is our 20th year, our 2015 retreat theme will be The Roaring 20s, and will take place September 19-21 at Summers Mill Retreat & Conference Center 7441 FM 1123, Belton, TX 76513. For more information, call K Brown, 254.760.5623 and leave a v.m. or text me so I will return your call.

About Us
At the heart of the retreat is a commitment to fostering a sense of community among cancer survivors. The program is carefully crafted to offer a blend of therapeutic activities, educational workshops, and opportunities for relaxation, ensuring a holistic approach to well-being. Through shared experiences, participants forge meaningful connections with others who have faced similar battles, creating a network of understanding and encouragement.
The retreat embraces the belief that healing incorporates body, mind, spirit, and community. Presentations led by experienced professionals cover topics such as new treatments, nutrition, and exercise to support survivors in maintaining a healthy lifestyle during and after cancer. Participants are encouraged to share their stories, fostering a sense of camaraderie and reinforcing the understanding that they are not alone in their journey.
Amidst the serene backdrop of the grounds of Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center, from Friday evening to Sunday noon, survivors engage in activities that promote self-care and rejuvenation. From guided meditation sessions to nature walks and projects to benefit the community, the retreat provides a space for individuals to rediscover joy, creativity, and a renewed sense of purpose. Nutrition and wellness workshops are also incorporated to support survivors in maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-cancer.
Importantly, the Surviving & Thriving Cancer Retreat has operated as a non-profit 501c(3) since 2018, relying on the generosity of donors and volunteers to make this experience accessible to as many survivors as possible. The organization is driven by a vision of helping survivors not only survive but thrive in their treatment and post-cancer lives. We stand as a testament to the strength and resilience of those who have overcome cancer, inspiring hope and a brighter future for all participants.
